The Emirati search and rescue team completed its tasks in Lattakia Governorate, and delivered an integrated set of rescue supplies and equipment to the civil defense teams in the governorate.

The Governor of Lattakia, Engineer Amer Hilal, during his honoring of the members of the Emirati team at the Gathering Center in the city of Jableh, expressed the thanks and appreciation of the Syrians to the UAE leadership and people for their noble stand on the side of the Syrian people, to face the repercussions of the earthquake, and their unlimited support through humanitarian aid that is transported daily on Emirati planes. To provide relief to those affected, and to actively participate, along with the national rescue teams, in rescue operations and search for survivors under the rubble.

Hamad Muhammad Al-Kaabi, the leader of the Emirati team, said in a statement to SANA reporter: “This is our duty towards our brothers in Syria, and what we provided is considered a simple thing between brothers, and it is our duty to provide assistance in such disasters and crises,” noting the satisfactory results of the training program, which lasted for about eight days, and benefited There are about 32 trainees from the Civil Defense in Lattakia, to be the nucleus of units specialized in search operations under the rubble, capable of rapid response in similar cases.

Al-Kaabi stressed that there will be more joint cooperation and coordination between the two countries, in implementation of the directives of the President of the State, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In turn, the Director of Civil Defense in Syria, Major General Safwan Bahloul, highly valued the stance of the United Arab Emirates, and the insistence of the rescue teams and the Emirati Red Crescent to come to Syria and help it, despite all the obstacles and difficulties, as its role was not limited to participating in search and rescue operations alongside the national teams. And other Arab and foreign countries, but rather moved to the stage of coordination and cooperation with non-governmental organizations and civil societies, including the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the Syrian Trust for Development, to distribute aid to those affected, in addition to training members of the Civil Defense Directorate in Lattakia and the Military Construction Corporation to form professionally trained small teams. The state-of-the-art equipment and equipment for search and rescue, conforming to the highest international standards.
