The ketchup saved the life of the Dominican fisherman Elvis Francois - now he can also upgrade them, but on the condition that they manage to track him down.
A little over a month ago, Francois became a global star when he was found in the middle of the sea by a Colombian ship.
It turned out that the 47-year-old fisherman repaired his boat near the Dutch part of the island of St. Martin in the Caribbean Sea, but inadvertently drifted out to sea.
According to him, he did not have the knowledge of sea navigation to return to shore and therefore had to stay in the open sea for 24 days.
And how did he survive?
This is where the ketchup comes into play.
In the boat Francois had a bottle of ketchup, cubes of chicken soup and garlic powder.
All these he mixed with rainwater and fed, until a plane passing over the area saw the word HELP burned on the boat.
A Colombian ship arrived at the point and rescued the unfortunate fisherman.

After it became known how he was saved, the American spice company Heinz decided to purchase a sophisticated boat for Francois, equipped with means of navigation (and on the way also to do PR).
Except that Francois disappeared as if he hadn't been.
The Heinz people contacted the government of the Dominican Republic and also the Colombian team that rescued him, but so far without results.
"Therefore we are now appealing to the general public to locate Elvis Francois," the company said.
