The husband of Assia B., discovered killed and dismembered in the Parisian park of Buttes Chaumont on February 13, was indicted for murder of a spouse, indicated his lawyer, Me Dominique Beyreuther Minkov to BFMTV, then to
several
others media.
The Paris prosecutor's office requested his placement in pre-trial detention.
Youcef M. had been placed in police custody on February 23 as part of an open judicial investigation for "
murder, attack on the integrity of a corpse and concealment of a corpse
", his account having been deemed "
incoherent
" by crime squad investigators.
The man had finally confessed to having killed his wife on February 24 to the investigators.
The couple was not known to the police and lived with their three children in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis).
“Inconsistent” statements
On February 13, municipal agents from the parks and gardens of Paris discovered a plastic bag containing the pelvis and thighs of Assia B., whose disappearance had been reported on February 6 by her husband.
The next day, law enforcement discovered other severed body parts, including the head.
Assia B. has been formally identified thanks to the analysis of her fingerprints.
It was the statements of the husband, deemed "
incoherent
", which had aroused the suspicions of the police.
He had notably told the investigators that his wife had "
left
" their accommodation on the night of January 30 to 31, without any video surveillance image of the couple's residence highlighting this hypothesis.
Youcef M. had also been slow to report the disappearance of his wife dating back to January 31, a week before his report to the Montreuil police station.
