With 32 days without real rain, France is experiencing an unprecedented episode of drought.
Invited this Sunday on the set of the Grand Jury RTL

, the Minister of Agriculture, Marc Fesneau, was far-sighted.
"
If it rains as it usually rains in the spring, we won't have any difficulties,"
he first tried to reassure.
A “historic but not unique”
situation
which could however lead to
“anticipation restrictions”
in certain departments, said the minister.
“The idea is, in the event that we do not have enough
rain, to try to preserve the water resource, which is a precious resource”,
he justified.

In the aisles of the Salon de l'Agriculture, on February 25, the Head of State for his part pleaded in favor of a
"plan of sobriety for water".
A vast educational campaign to
“give the gestures that everyone can do daily”
similar to that deployed on energy sobriety, detailed Marc Fesneau.
Before outlining a series of recommendations to the French:
"take a shower rather than a bath"
,
"do not water your plants when it is too hot", "do not clean your car"...
Beyond these
"attitudes of eco-gestures"
, the Minister of Agriculture defended the solution of water reservoirs, such as mega-basins,

"We need water reservoirs for the years when we will have water (...), but that does not prevent us from working on more resilient agricultural systems"
, he explained.
Among the fervent opponents of this model, the boss of the Greens, Marine Tondelier, called for support for the
“international mobilization”
of March 25 against the basins.

That we water more?
, the minister was annoyed.
“Without water, there is no agriculture
,” he continued.
After the episode of Sainte-Soline (Deux-Sèvres) - during which a mega-basin project had been blocked by far-left activists -, Marc Fesneau regretted that "a certain number of people mean
by violence calling into question the law”

Another thorny subject facing the number two of the MoDem: the inflation of food products in supermarkets.
Distributors do not benefit from the price increase, but
"that does not prevent them from making an effort"

In the viewfinder of Marc Fesneau, some of them indulge according to him in
"a frantic race for the lowest price"
which amounts to
"a frantic race for the loss of food sovereignty"

"These are French companies, they have a responsibility
," he added.
The government continues to work on an "anti-inflation basket" whose outlines should be revealed
"within a fortnight"
