A patient and his family were among the five people killed when a medical plane crashed in western Nevada late Friday, the flight operator said.
“We are heartbroken to report that we have received confirmation from the Central Lyon County Fire Department that none of the five people on board survived,” Care Flight said in a statement.

"The five people on board were a pilot, a flight nurse, a flight paramedic, a patient and a family member of the patient," the statement added.
Care Flight said the PC 12 fixed-wing aircraft left radar at about 9:45 p.m. local time (12:45 a.m. ET) near Stagecoach, Nevada, a small town about 25 miles east of Reno. and 40 miles (15 kilometers) west of Silver Springs.

"Our immediate focus is to assist our team members and their families, as well as responding agencies," the statement added.
The Lyon County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that the downed plane was located at 11:15 pm (2:15 am Eastern Time).

The Care Flight statement said the Central Lyon Sheriff's Office and Fire Department were coordinating with the National Transportation Safety Board to determine the cause of the crash.
NBC News, sister network to Noticias Telemundo, has contacted the NTSB for comment.
Care Flight added that the company's flights had been suspended on Saturday morning until it was determined safe to return to service.
