The police arrested three masked armed men last night (Saturday) in Rishon LeZion, who were apparently on their way to carry out an assassination.
A Kalashnikov rifle and a pistol were found in their vehicle.
The suspects were caught during searches by the police after a stolen vehicle, with duplicate license plates, which was traveling in the west of the city.
In the area of the Rishon LeZion interchange, the police were able to stop the vehicle and discover the weapons.
Today the police will ask to extend the detention of the three, residents of Ras Laz, Dimona and Kiryat Malachi in their 20s.

About a month and a half ago, five people were arrested in Be'er Ya'akov on suspicion of trying to carry out an assassination.
They were arrested in a parking lot in the city in possession of two loaded guns, stocking caps, a surveillance device and other assault weapons.
The officers fired in the air and then arrested the suspects for questioning.
The incident began when the police received a report of suspect movement in an underground parking lot in Be'er Ya'akov.
The policemen arrived at the scene and noticed five, with one of them holding a gun and therefore carried out an arrest accompanied by shooting in the air until all the suspects were fully under control and they were laid on the ground for their arrest.
A search of the vehicle revealed another loaded gun, stocking caps and assault weapons, including a sea rifle, a knife and an ax and a surveillance device.
