Dozens of garbage trucks are blocking Kaplan Street in Jerusalem in front of the government offices today (Sunday).

This, as part of the local government's protest over the employment conditions of the workers.

The drivers who arrived at the scene joined together on Route 1 for a large convoy.

"We came to protest against the meager and wretched wages for municipal employees," said Wala Ofer, a driver in the Afula municipality's SFA department. "It starts with the assistants and ends with the transparent employees.

Our demand is to improve the salary.

It is not possible for the assistants to look after and educate children eight hours a day and receive minimum wage."

"In the end, budgets for the authorities are budgets for the residents. The government promises to lower the cost of living and lower taxes," said the chairman of the local government center, Haim Bibbs, in the protest tent in Netfach.

The Treasury is cashing in on the backs of our young people.

In the construction we are doing in all the cities in the State of Israel, some of it came back to us.

They want to raise the property tax in June, this is not a solution.

And what was the most important thing for the Ministry of Finance?

Take 650 million and give it in the coalition agreements."

Shay Hajaj, Chairman of the Regional Government Center: "We are not here for the authorities, we are here for the citizens of Israel. Four years without a stable government, and now, when there is someone to talk to - we choose Don't talk to us. It costs us millions to take care of the bathing beaches. The Minister of the Interior decided to allow free entry, but who will pay for the lifeguards and the expenses? We will continue the fight until we reach solutions.
