With their own magic theater “Verschmittst”, Stefan and Yvonne Schmitt fulfill a dream.

After nine months, they take stock: their theater in Weilheim is well attended.

The magician and the acrobat work on new ideas.

Weilheim

– When Yvonne Schmitt performs her acrobatic tricks on the air ring, the spectator catches his breath.

Aesthetically and elegantly, the 33-year-old nestles against the “Aerial Hoop” hanging from the ceiling.

To the sounds of Lana del Rey, the trained dancer shows artistry at the highest level.

Its lightness inspires: even the most difficult and exhausting figures look child's play.

Schmitt's solo interlude is one of the highlights of the current show "Resonanz" in the magic theater on the Weilheim city wall.

Together with her husband, magician Stefan Schmitt, the acrobat leads the "Verschmittst".

With the opening of the Magic Theater last May, the couple fulfilled a long-awaited dream.

After nine months, they take stock – and the results are consistently positive.

"We are absolutely enthusiastic about the city and the audience," says Stefan Schmitt in an interview with the local newspaper.

The Christmas business was "sensational" and now they want to lure theatergoers with new highlights.

For Valentine's Day, the artists had already offered a special show with dinner.

The evening with 42 guests was completely sold out.

"We had a lot of fun," says the magician.

For Yvonnes Schmitt's birthday there is a "Magical Varieté"

The next highlight is now planned for the end of March.

For Yvonne's 34th birthday, on March 24th, there will be a "Magical Varieté" on the same evening and the following day.

The Schmitt couple invited two colleagues to the birthday gala show: Jan Logemann (Hamburg) and Jörg Alexander (Munich).

Both magicians are well-known in the scene.

Logemann was voted "Magician of the Year" in 2012, an award given by the Magic Circle of Germany.

These had previously received, among others, David Copperfield, Hans Moretti, and the "Ehrlich Brothers".

Jörg Alexander is an illusionist and performs in the Munich "Teamtheater Salon" with the show "All Wonders - Magic and Culinary Art".

"These are two absolutely exceptional artists," says Stefan Schmitt.

"We're looking forward to being on stage with them." Tickets are still available for both evenings, a seat in the stalls costs 89 euros and a seat in the stands costs 79 euros.

"The overall concept is unique," says Stefan Schmitt when asked why the theater's ticket prices are in the upper price range.

"You don't notice the administrative stuff in the background," explains the magician.

The Schmitts take care of everything themselves: the marketing concept, the bookkeeping, the ticket management for their magic theatre.

“There are many secondary theaters of war.

It's not just magic."

New show: "The theme remains mental magic"

And the Schmitts are already working on their next show.

They don't want to reveal more about it yet.

"The topic remains mental magic," says Stefan Schmitt.

Their current show "Resonance" is already about the "hobby horse" of the two: reading minds and making predictions.

The Schmitts do this in an impressive way and sometimes blindfolded.

The audience is always involved and thus resonates with the artists.

The new show is scheduled to premiere in January 2024.

"We want to take our audience back on a mental journey and enchant them," says Yvonne Schmitt.

There will also be an acrobatic part again.

Schmitt, whose dance skills have already been photographed by ballet photographer Axel Brand, trains diligently for this: she practices on the Luftring five times a week.
