The departure of the writer Nazem Muhanna from the cultural scene left a great void due to the multiplicity of his literary talents, his breadth of knowledge, and his dealings with the same distance from all writers, especially since he ran the Al-Maarifa magazine for several years.

And the President of the Union of Arab Writers, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani, stated that what we do is cultural readings for our colleagues who have real cultural foundations, such as Nazem Muhanna, who was distinguished by loyalty and adherence to cultural values ​​and nobility of morals, in addition to his multiple literary talents, which made him do his work convincingly and endearing to all his colleagues.

The Director General of the Syrian Book Organization, Dr. Nayef Al-Yassin, saw that the late was highly cultured, broad-minded, and diverse in talents, writing honestly and beautifully, in addition to his high professionalism in work. He also dealt with everyone with openness, love, and understanding, to reach a successful work that carries the elements of culture and media.

The editor-in-chief of the Literary Week newspaper, Vice-President of the Arab Writers Union, Tawfiq Ahmed, said: The late writer Muhanna was a storyteller and developed to great extents. His culture began as a heritage and moved to a variety of cultures, which were reflected in his literature and writings.

Al-Arqam Al-Zoubi, Director of the Cultural Activity Office at the Union, stated that despite his proficiency in other literary genres, he wrote poetry, novels, essays, and radio shows for children, but he considered the story an expressive art that he adhered to and preferred over other literary arts, and his storytelling experience is one of the most important Syrian experiences. And modern Arabic because of its tendency towards modernity, as he used to write and draw inspiration from history steeped in antiquity.

A member of the executive office of the Union of Arab Writers, Riyad Tabra, said that the departure of the writer and journalist Nazem Muhanna was painful, like these days that pass in our beloved country, because he shared with his people and colleagues all the pains in all their forms, especially that he enriched the cultural scene with his support for originality, love and constructive culture, distinguished by humility, affection and the beauty of his talents. .

At the same time, the Director of Children's Culture at the Syrian General Organization for Writers, Qahtan Bayraktar, explained that the late Muhanna was one of the best influential intellectuals, and his history was full of high morals and true culture, and this was fully evident during his management of the Al-Maarifa magazine and the principles and morals contained in his writings.

It is noteworthy that the late writer wrote many books, including The Old Land (Laughing Yellow Houses – Guardians of the World – Kingdom of the Hills), in addition to the book “New Babylon”, which consists of various articles on culture and literature, and two booklets on the late poets Mamdouh Adwan and Muhammad al-Maghout, Within the Creative Flags series, issued by the Syrian General Authority for Books.
