The Damascus Chamber of Commerce pledged, during an extraordinary meeting, to build two partitions on the structure in principle for the earthquake-affected people in the governorates of Aleppo and Lattakia, and all possibilities were discussed to help them at all levels.
The head of the Chamber, Abu Al-Huda Al-Lahham, indicated that there are new mechanisms that the Chamber is looking into to provide the greatest possible support to those affected, and to coordinate with many merchants to deal in an organized manner with the repercussions of the earthquake.
The Secretary of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, Wassim al-Qattan, called for the Damascus Chamber of Commerce to have an important role in supporting those affected by the earthquake, noting that the Chamber contributed immediately after the earthquake with an amount of 300 million food baskets, for the benefit of the Syrian Trust for Development.
Al-Qattan pointed out that the support is currently directed to compensate for the building destroyed by the earthquake in the governorates of Lattakia and Aleppo, provided that the Chamber communicates and invites merchants from various sectors to contribute financially, each merchant according to his capabilities.
Al-Qattan explained that the chamber undertook to build two partitions in each governorate over the structure, provided that it paid an amount of 500 million Syrian pounds.
