On the way to revolution?
After a continuous broadcast of more than 30 years, next month the largest Spanish television channel that still broadcasts bullfights will close, after a significant decrease in the number of customers who ordered it to watch.

The channel "Canal Toros" ("Bull Channel" in Spanish) will finally stop its broadcasts to Movistar subscribers, the television company that broadcasts it to countries in Latin America and Great Britain, and it will be replaced by another channel.
The animal protection officials who operate in Spain celebrated the decision, noting that the closure is due to a constant decrease in customers who wanted this channel.
The removal of the channel joins the decision of "El Pais", the most widely used newspaper in the country, from last year, in which the reports on the bullfights were stopped in its printed edition.
However, the practice of the bloody sport remains on the channel's website.

In general, in Spain in the last year there has been a decrease in the number of viewers of bullfights in general and a decrease in the number of these fights in particular.
If in 2017 there were 1,553 bullfights in the country, then in 2021 there was a decrease to 824 fights.
Support for the brutal sport is also quite low, as according to surveys carried out in the country - 46.7% of Spaniards are against holding bullfights, compared to 18.6% who support it and 34.7% who have no opinion.
However, supporters of bullfighting justify their support by saying that it is part of Spanish culture itself.
