and the Minister of Education, Soledad Acuña, opened this Monday the 2023 school year in the City of Buenos Aires, which has more than 584 thousand students in the classrooms of public and private schools.
Rodríguez Larreta spoke at that educational establishment and said that
"once again, the City is the first district to begin the
2023 school year. For the third consecutive year, students will have 192 days of classes, 12 more than the mandatory national calendar ”,
The Head of Government assured that each of those days will be used to the maximum.
"We are going to deepen the educational transformation that we started 15 years ago with Mauricio
(Macri) and that today has advances in infrastructure, in teacher training, in the incorporation of technology in classrooms and in the improvement of content," he remarked.
The City had communicated, last Wednesday, an agreement with the teachers' unions to grant a 60% increase
, which guaranteed a normal start of classes in the Buenos Aires district.

In this way, in the coming months, teachers will receive 14% as of February 1;
6% as of April 1;
10% as of June 1;
another 10% from August 1;
10% from October 1 and 10% from December 1.
"We celebrate the agreement and look forward to the start of classes this Monday. The City is, once again, the first jurisdiction to start the school year early, with 193 days of classes, 13 more than the mandatory 180," he said. in this regard the Minister of Education, Soledad Acuña.

The Head of Government explained that in this new school year "another 13 bilingual public schools will be opened: 10 primary schools and three secondary schools."
