After a final weekend of intense negotiations, Rishi Sunak was able to invite Ursula von der Leyen to Windsor, west London.
The Prime Minister was reportedly keen instead for this agreement to go down in history as
'the Windsor framework'.
The two signatories hailed a
“new chapter”
in relations between London and the EU.
The Northern Irish protocol remained the big bone of contention between the two parties.
