The mystery is over.
A little over two months after being the manager of the team that won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Lionel Scaloni was confirmed this Monday by the AFA as coach of the Argentine soccer team until the 2026 World Cup to be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
This was made official by the Argentine Football Association through a publication on the Twitter account of the Argentine National Team hours after the FIFA The Best awards ceremony begins in Paris, France, where Scaloni himself, Lionel Messi and Emiliano Dibu Martínez participate in the shortlists for the statuettes for the best of the season.
The officialization was ratified by Claudio Chiqui Tapia, president of the AFA, who minutes later made a post on Twitter where he showed the privacy of the meeting he had with Scaloni in the French capital.
"When trust is high, communication is simple and effective. We continue to strengthen the national team project, together with Lionel Scaloni, the world champion coach," Tapia wrote on his personal account.
