Two vehicles driving on the Promenade des Anglais overnight from Sunday to Monday knocked down a pedestrian who later died.
At 3:23 a.m., the firefighters received the report and when they arrived, the pedestrian was fatally injured.
The facts occurred at Carras, on the northern roadway.
One of the drivers involved in the accident had left the scene.
With the help of CCTV cameras, two people were arrested in the morning.
An investigation has been opened by the accident brigade of the departmental security.
According to the first elements, the pedestrian would have suffered from discomfort before being hit by the two cars.
At this stage, the identity of the victim and suspects is unknown.
During part of the night, this lane of the Promenade des Anglais had to be cut off to traffic to let the police and the eleven firefighters intervene.
Traffic is back to normal.
