Hama-Sana
With the aim of mitigating the effects of the earthquake on children, the Hama Culture Directorate, in cooperation with the Syrian Trust for Development and the Social Welfare Association, organized activities for psychological support and recreational activities in two shelters at Omar Yahya Al-Farji School and the Institute for the Deaf and Dumb in Hama.
The activities carried out by the volunteer youth team at the Directorate of Culture on a daily basis include interactive meetings with children and their families through meaningful dialogues, with regard to psychological support, protection from risks and how to combat rumors, drawing workshops, works and recreational sports games.
Sami Taha, Director of Hama Culture, considered in a statement to SANA reporter that these activities are an attempt to relieve the children of the tragedy, spread an atmosphere of joy among them, and draw a smile on their faces, to overcome the negative effects of this disaster and build their confidence in the future.
The head of the child culture department in the directorate, Nissan Salama, explained that the volunteer youth team seeks to provide psychological support to children and their families affected by the earthquake, and to provide entertainment activities to alleviate their suffering and distribute gifts to them, noting that the children learned through the handicraft workshop how to benefit from the surrounding things in accomplishing Various handicrafts, which, in her opinion, contribute to enhancing confidence and optimism among their ranks.
