Aleppo, SANA- The ambulance and emergency system at the Health Directorate in Aleppo has devoted its work since the first hours of the earthquake in Aleppo.

The ambulance and emergency system in the Health Directorate in Aleppo has devoted its work since the first hours of the earthquake on the sixth of February, to confront the effects of this disaster in the various affected areas, all the way to the hospitals where the injured were treated.

The head of the ambulance and emergency system, Dr. Jihad Baij, said in a statement to SANA reporter that a plan was drawn up to deal with the disaster based on the formation of five emergency teams, and sending 19 ambulances to the neighborhoods whose residential buildings were destroyed to transport the victims and the injured to hospitals.

Dr. Baij indicated that ambulance and emergency systems were used in the governorates of Tartous, Homs, Hama and Raqqa, to counter the effects of the earthquake, in addition to coordinating with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent to deploy ambulances and cover all axes of the city of Aleppo.

The workers in the ambulance system in Aleppo were able to overcome fatigue and long working hours in order to rescue the injured. The driver, Abdul Razzaq, hurried to join his work immediately after the earthquake occurred and stand by the people of his city. As for the nurse Ahmed Najjar from the emergency system, he mentioned that nothing equals his happiness when the survivors are pulled out from under rubble, provide them with first aid and remove dust from their respiratory systems.

Camera SANA visited Al-Razi Hospital and met with a number of medical staff who participated in providing first aid to the injured, where the director of the hospital, Dr. Rizkallah Malo, explained that the specialized doctors were divided into three sections, to sort cases in emergency and ambulance rooms and transfer simple cases from them to emergency treatments and from them to operations Al-Kabira, pointing out that 37 surgeries were performed for those injured in the earthquake and 280 patients were received.

As for the resident doctor at Al-Razi Hospital, Dr. Lana Qiyas, who was present in the surgical emergency department at the hospital at the moment of the earthquake, she indicated that she worked with all her energy to provide assistance and first-aid services to the survivors as quickly as possible.

And the Chief of General Nursing, Waddah Hamdak, stated that all nursing staff in the hospital have been mobilized, working in the ambulance department of the committee for sorting and evaluating cases for the injured, and transferring serious injuries to the care department and cases that need surgical work to the surgery department.
