The Art Museum of CUHK and Master Chow Tai Fook’s Studio co-organize the exhibition “Crafting the Past and Casting the Present <2>: Ancient Chinese Gold Craftsmanship and Inheritance” exhibiting more than 60 sets of ancient gold artifacts from the Art Museum and private collections of CUHK, as well as Master Chow Tai Fook’s Studio Provides restoration experiments and early Hong Kong gold ornaments, and introduces the gold craftsmanship spanning 3,500 years from multiple perspectives.

According to the CUHK Cultural Relics Officer, the exhibition mainly discusses three types of crafts: gold-silver interlacing, gilt-silver gold, and gold wire production and application, and introduces techniques such as hammer chiseling, casting, and fine gold welding.

This exhibition will display more than 60 sets of ancient gold wares from CUHK Art Museums and private collections, as well as restoration experiments provided by Chow Tai Fook Master Studio and early Hong Kong gold ornaments.
