The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the conclusion of the tripartite naval maneuvers with the participation of warships and support vessels of Russia, China and South Africa in the waters of the Indian Ocean today.
The frigate “Admiral Gorshkov” and the medium supply ship “Kama” participated in the maneuvers on the Russian side, and on the Chinese side the frigate “Rizhao”, the destroyer “Huainan” and the supply ship “Kekiselihu”, and the frigate “Mindi” for the South African Navy.
The ministry stated in a statement that the participants in the exercises trained, over a period of 3 days, to form a multinational detachment of warships in a specific area, to carry out joint tactical maneuvers in various combat formations and groupings, and to carry out mine action tasks at sea crossings while shooting at a target that simulates a mine. afloat.
Warships from the three countries carried out artillery firing operations at a sea target, and training was carried out to liberate a ship held with hostages, and to provide assistance to a ship in distress at sea and to individuals floating in the sea waters.
