The Directorate of Education in Aleppo continues to provide psychological support in schools and shelters throughout the city since the early days of the earthquake, through psychosocial support teams.
And the Director of Education in Aleppo, Eng. Mustafa Abdel-Ghani, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the team worked to provide support to pupils and students in schools, and to implement awareness sessions about the proper measures that are taken during an earthquake, in addition to carrying out activities that help focus and divert attention from the events it went through. City, pointing to the importance of encouraging students to return to school and pursue their educational attainment to restore psychological and social stability.
The head of the Research Department in Aleppo Education, Huda Al-Hassan, stated that the psychological support team consists of 25 psychological and social counselors, who are trained in the psychological and mental health program, the guide to psychological and social support during crises and psychological first aid.
She added: The team worked on providing the response in several stages, including providing psychological first aid and psychosocial support.
