Today, an earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck the city of Hormozgan and Shiraz, southern Iran, without causing human or material losses.
The Iranian News Agency (IRNA) quoted the Seismological Center of the Geophysical Institution at the University of Tehran as saying in a statement: “The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers from the surface of the earth, and at the meeting of the northern latitude 72.27 and the eastern longitude 36.55 degrees.
The center indicated that there were no reports so far of human casualties or material damage as a result of this tremor.
