With the contribution of civil, social and popular activities in the town of Ain al-Bad in the eastern countryside of Hama, and within the “Family are our people” initiative, foodstuffs and in-kind and cash assistance were distributed to those affected by the earthquake in temporary shelters in Bab al-Nahr, the deaf and dumb, and the people who were hosted in the town of Ain al-Bad.
Hammoud al-Hallaj, one of the civil activists in the town of Ain al-Bad, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the initiative came as an expression of love and solidarity among the people of the same country, in an attempt by them as civil and popular activities to contribute with other activities in healing the wounds and drawing a smile on the faces of the affected families and children.
Al-Hallaj added: Since the first day of the earthquake, the activities initiated a campaign to collect donations by volunteers and the civil society, which included clothes, blankets, foodstuffs, infant formula, diapers and medicines, and they were distributed to about 150 families, in addition to distributing a new batch to about 130 families in the city of Hama and the town of Ain. The country and the families that were hosted by the people and residents in the temporary shelters in Bab al-Nahr and the deaf and dumb in Hama.
A number of the people expressed their thanks for this kind initiative, which relieves them and contributes to meeting part of their food needs, especially since what happened is a humanitarian catastrophe that requires all of us as Syrians to provide assistance, each according to his ability.
