Not many people will decide to invest in a massive renovation in an apartment that is expected to undergo a construction eviction, so that they can have a pleasant and comfortable home, also If it is a year or two until the project date. A single Tel Avivian, high-tech executive in his 40s, decided to do this and turn his dark and unused apartment into a bright apartment that realizes its full potential. It is a small, old apartment whose previous tenants closed off

parts part with plaster walls to create another room, which closed the apartment even more and eliminated any possibility of bringing the outside in.

When the designer Merav Eichler inquired with the owner of the apartment before planning the renovation what his needs were, different needs came up that represent the present as well as the plans for the future.

On the one hand, an apartment for a bachelor who can host comfortably and continue to work from home in an optimal way, and on the other hand, an apartment that will also suit a small family for the day when he settles down.

Accordingly, the designer redesigned the entire interior space which was very dark and the gorgeous view of the park could not be seen from it at all, despite the physical proximity to it.

In the renovation, the designer left only the outer walls of the apartment and changed it completely from the inside.

She opened up the space and also dismantled the plaster walls in the study which blocked a huge display case and thereby brought the green view into the apartment.

The ugly structural beam that protruded a meter high from the ceiling in the middle of the living room was eliminated and replaced with a modern iron beam.

In order to create a sense of space in a small apartment, Eichler eliminated the corridor wall leading to the rooms and in its place created a metal and wood library that creates a ventilated buffer between the public space and the private rooms.

The television is also placed in the library and it partly contains open shelves that create a feeling of lightness and allow flow between the spaces.

The floor in the apartment is covered with bleached smoked oak parquet that gives it warmth.

The dark kitchen, which before the renovation was cramped, became a bright, modern and spacious kitchen that was enlarged at the expense of the toilets that were united with the shower.

The cladding chosen for the kitchen is black and creates a contrast with the white cabinets that light up the space.

An island of the same materials was placed in the kitchen and around it black bar stools.

The living room was designed in light gray colors and under the large window in the living room another sitting area was placed which also includes storage spaces and it is a place to relax in front of the green view.

The study was designed according to the needs of the present tenant and his plans for the future, so that one day it will be possible to convert it into a children's room with relative ease.

A custom carpentry unit has been designed to include a spacious and elegant work table that will be comfortable for him to work many hours from home.

The room faces the park and by removing the plaster walls that were in the room before the renovation, the green enters in full force through windows with a black profile.

An off-white sofa was placed in front of the desk to give the tenant the opportunity to rest from prolonged sitting in front of the computer.

When you enter the bedroom there is an intimate and enveloping feeling.

The design is minimalist in gray tones and at the same time there is an atmosphere of tenderness.

The designer chose a cabinet with sliding doors in white, to save space in the small room.

Above it hangs a strip of technical lighting that illuminates the closet shelves.

The bathroom was designed in a continuous line and matches the rest of the apartment, with a bathtub in light colors.

An oak sink cabinet gives warmth in the space and the sanitary ware was chosen in black and gives it a modern look.

The tenant's love for music is also reflected in the planning and design of the house, so that a dedicated place has been prepared for his musical instruments and his large record collection is on display in the living room library.
