Kavan: The West sending more weapons to Ukraine does not bring it closer to peace

Former Czech Foreign Minister Jan Kavan confirmed that the West sending more weapons to the Kiev regime is a “meaningless” process that only leads to prolonging the war and causing more casualties without bringing Ukraine closer to peace.

Kavan pointed out in an interview with the Parliamentary Papers website that Western sanctions are ineffective and harm Europe more than they harm Russia, adding: "We know from history that the sanctions that are imposed do not achieve their goal and only harm ordinary people without leading to a change in policies."

And he believed that the developments of events in Ukraine confirm that it is necessary to move towards a cease-fire and leave it to the diplomats to reach a peaceful solution acceptable to the parties, considering that the accusations leveled by some European and Czech institutions against Russia that it represents the greatest global threat now are nothing but “disinformation.” open".
