Legislative Assembly: the PRO warns that if Alberto Fernández attacks Macri they will leave the premises again

2023-02-28T00:15:50.515Z

They already did it last year. The radicals and the Civic Coalition are inclined to remain on their benches.

At the beginning of an intense week in Congress, the legislators of Together for Change held meetings to define their positions regarding the session called by the ruling party for this Tuesday in Deputies and Alberto Fernández's speech on Wednesday, for the opening of the regular session period.

In the preview, the most susceptible will once again be those of the PRO:

they warned that they will not tolerate "aggressions"

and will leave the venue in the event that the President targets Mauricio Macri, like last year.

The PRO and UCR blocs had their usual meetings the day before the sessions, as the deputies from the provinces arrived in Buenos Aires.

There was also a

Zoom between the referents and cross conversations

to try to unify positions.

For this Tuesday, the opponents will wait to see if the Frente de Todos achieves a quorum, with the support of other benches (the allies from Río Negro and missionaries, the left and socialists and Buenos Aires from the Federal interbloc).

If the ruling party gathers the 129 presences to discuss the payment plan for the pension debt and the digitalization of medical records, the legislators of Together for Change will occupy their seats.

In that case,

there could be differences in the vote on the moratorium

to access a retirement: the majority is inclined to reject it and there will be a joint pronouncement before the session, although some -mainly in the radicalismo- did not rule out abstaining.

internal differences

Regarding Alberto Fernández's speech before the Legislative Assembly, the PRO legislators will go with the toughest position and predisposed to rise up in case of hearing excessive questions to their criteria by the head of state.

With a

scenario of strong confrontation

months ago in Congress, the impeachment of the members of the Supreme Court heightened the tension and so far the ruling party has not been able to hold a session to discuss any of the projects included in the extraordinary agenda.

“We are going to listen to the word of the President and we will see if he is up to the task.

If you continue to grieve our sector, we are not going to stay

," deputy Alvaro González advanced before the

Clarín

query , adding: "They have 100% inflation, a monumental deficit, uncontrolled issuance,

and are you going to sit there? to say 'ah but Macri'?

”.

From radicalism, on the other hand, they will be inclined to remain in the enclosure.

Unless we see something extremely serious, we must be present.

It is not necessary to do what Kirchnerism did, which did not even respect the transfer of command.

It is the President's last speech.

According to what he does, he will talk more about his conduct than about the opposition, ”Mario Negri -head of the UCR block of Deputies- told this newspaper.

They will take a similar position in the Civic Coalition.

“We will not do anything different from what we have always been doing.

There will be an institutional representation of our block.

We are going to listen to the speech and in any case later we will answer what has to be answered

”, assured Juan Manuel López, head of the bench of the space led by Elisa Carrió.

The precedent by the Court

In some way, the positions they adopted with the political trial of the Court were replicated.

As the meetings progressed, from the PRO -and also Evolution- they were

in favor of "emptying" the commission

so as not to validate the treatment.

A sector of the UCR agreed, and the Civic Coalition maintained that it was necessary to attend to

"not let them squeeze"

the witnesses.

López, Mariana Stilman and Paula Oliveto took their places to confront the Kirchner swords.

At the opening of the 2022 sessions, in a section Alberto Fernández criticized Macri and the PRO legislators left the premises.

The rest of Together for Change stayed on their benches.

"

We have to put up with it

, we have put up with Cristina's three-hour speeches and they puteen us in the face," the radicals ratified in this case.

We are not going to put on a show”

, they agreed from the Civic Coalition.

We feel the attack on Mauricio in a different way.

If the President says that Argentines are doing great, we can stay and laugh.

If he attacks to justify himself or to look good with Cristina, we are going to get up ”, they contrasted in the PRO.

For that space, especially the hard wing, leaving the seats empty "pays" in electoral terms.
