Moreno attacks Sánchez for the "only yes is yes" law in the institutional act of Andalusia Day

The Andalusian president criticizes "interference" in autonomy, while others "are laid out a red carpet"

The criticism for the trickle of reductions in sentences for sexual offenders due to the application of the

law of only yes is yes

has sounded loud this Tuesday at the Maestranza Theater in Seville, during the institutional act of awarding medals of Andalusia on the occasion of 28 February, commemoration of the 1980 referendum by which Andalusia agreed to its self-government.

The president of the Board, Juan Manuel Moreno (PP), has not wanted to ignore an issue that his party has turned into the main argument of attrition against the president of the Government, the socialist Pedro Sánchez, less than three months before the municipal elections and autonomous of the next month of May.

“Andalusia protects women who are victims of sexist violence and sexual assaults.

Here women receive legal protection and understanding in the face of the possibility that their attackers may be released as a result of a law that is taking too long to be corrected”, stated the Andalusian president.

According to data from the Popular Party, there have been 129 sentence reductions for the aggressors of Andalusian women, and in ten cases they have been released.

The Andalusian Women's Institute has received at least 50 requests from women seeking legal help in the event that their aggressors see their time in prison reduced, according to the Board.

Moreno has also questioned the central government about the temporary tax for large fortunes, which, according to Moreno, is a response to his decision to subsidize 100% wealth tax in Andalusia, a decision that only affects 0.2%. of taxpayers and has an impact on the regional budget of 120 million euros.

The autonomous government has appealed to the Constitutional Court the tax for great fortunes on the grounds that there is an invasion of powers and represents an "obstacle", as Moreno said this Tuesday, to the autonomous community.

“The current Andalusia does not accept guardianships or interference.

We Andalusians do not accept that obstacles are placed in our way, placing us at a disadvantage to compete on an equal footing”, claimed the Andalusian president.

According to him,

In full offensive by the opposition parties and the unions for the chaos in primary care and its possible agreement, Moreno has dedicated a good part of his intervention to defend the public services of the community.

“Andalusia has a good public education system, a good public system of social protection and a good public health system.

We value what is ours ”, he pointed out.

As is customary among members of his government, Moreno has used the data on investment in public services as endorsement of his commitment to face criticism of his progressive privatization launched by the opposition and the unions.

“More than half of Andalusia's budget – some 26,000 million euros – is allocated to sustaining, expanding and strengthening health, education and social policies.

The well-being column is supported by our 98,000 teachers, more than 60,000 social service workers and 125,000 public health professionals with dedication and vocation for public service ”, he highlighted.

If in the previous legislature it was the teachers and parents of the public education centers who led the main protests against the Government of the PP and CS for the elimination of units, the doctors and the rest of the health professionals are now marking the pulse in social matters .

Although the Executive reached an agreement with the Union of Doctors of Andalusia on the daily number of patients to avoid calling a general strike, the rest of the unions do not accept the pact and every Thursday they stage rallies in protest of the deterioration of care primary.

The inclusion in the draft of the decree to update the rates and concerts of primary care as a service is also forcing Moreno and the Minister of Health, Catalina García,

to have to deny in each of their interventions that this benefit is going to be privatized.

They deny it with the same firmness that they refuse to remove, for now, that provision from the decree project with sanitary rates.

As usual in his speeches for 28-F, Moreno has made reference to Andalusia without complexes.

"We are the third locomotive in Spain and I aspire to be the second", he pointed out, to insist that "the Andalucía brand is wider, more modern and more attractive every day".

In this sense, he has also reiterated, as he has been doing since he is president of the Board, the importance of unity, without ideologies, to continue advancing.

“I believe in a leading Andalusia.

I have always believed.

Responsibly and with great humility, because the Andalusian leadership needs us all.

That is why I appeal to unity, to collective effort, to a generous and useful alliance of all Andalusians ”, he concluded.

Moreno has laced his political discourse with allusions to the winners, in an act that has completely lost the leaden solemnity of other editions and has become a television gala full of musical performances and with a certain self-confidence on the part of the host of the gala.

Eva González, who called Moreno to the stage with a colloquial “presi”.

In this edition, the Andalusian Government has recognized David Bisbal, who sang a content hymn of Andalusia, and Lola Flores, who died in 1995, as favorite children. His daughter Rosario thanked the award, although she also recalled that her mother wondered about that they did not give her the medal of her land.
