An industrial accident occurred in Mong Kok.
At about 4 a.m., it was reported that at the MTR Mong Kok Station, a staff member of the elevator company suspected that his hand was cut off by the machine room of the elevator when he was performing maintenance work such as refueling for the elevator near Exit B.
The victim screamed in pain and alarmed his colleagues to immediately stop the machine before reporting to the police for help.
The ambulance personnel arrived at the scene and found that all four fingers of the victim's right hand, except the thumb, were pinched off, so they immediately disinfected him to stop the bleeding.
The victim was still conscious and was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital by ambulance.
Firefighters were at the scene to assist in the search for the victim's severed fingers. It is known that all of them have been recovered and taken to the hospital for connection.
The police are investigating the incident and classifying it as an "industrial accident" for follow-up.
The injured colleague was also accompanied to the hospital and assisted the police in the investigation.
The staff of the Labor Department and the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department will be contacted to investigate the cause of the accident.
The injured man was conscious when he was taken to the hospital with a serious injury to his right hand.
