First spring, then winter, and all within a few days.

A thin blanket of snow has spread in Munich - a look into March shows how things could continue now.

Munich – Yes, what now?

Only last week did spring take over with full force.

Then, last weekend, winter came to Munich and the region.

In the state capital it was even enough for a thin layer of snow.

At the start of the week on Monday, February 27th, the weather is pointing towards winter: repeated snow showers and freezing cold determine the weather on the penultimate day of February.

Nevertheless, the sun manages to work its way through the thick cloud cover from time to time, one almost has the feeling that April usually brings it with it - and as we all know, it does what it wants.

But how will things continue in the coming days?

Weather: Onset of winter in Munich – this is how it looks this week

A first look at the weather maps from

wetteronline

shows: The new week will probably be one of the more stable ones as far as the weather is concerned.

That alone should make some people happy after the rollercoaster ride of the past week - the constant change from spring jacket to winter outfit is quite nerve-wracking.

According to the weather service, the daily highs level off at five to seven degrees, but be careful: the thermometer falls below zero degrees at night.

This is also due to the clear skies that are predicted for the coming days.

You can count on a lot of sunshine, but under a starry sky the temperatures drop quickly.

Winter into March?

"Totally open"

The big question remains: Are the signs now pointing to early spring in the short term, or will late winter continue to dominate the weather in Munich and the region?

"How things will continue in March is still completely open," explains Dominik Jung, weather expert from

wetter.net.

"Overall, there is still no March winter with a lot of snow down to the ground and permafrost in sight," Jung continued.

But even mild spring days don't seem to be on the agenda at first.

So the only thing left to do is to keep all types of clothing close at hand – until winter has completely said goodbye.
