By means of a letter, the Minister of Labor officially responded to the requests of the PS deputy Jérôme Guedj on this measure which was the source of many controversies in the Assembly.

If the contests in the National Assembly ended ten days ago, the Minister of Labor Olivier Dussopt continues in his desire to convince the opposition.

And in particular on the question of the minimum pension at 1200 euros.

Put in the debate at the beginning of January, the measure had been the subject of a misunderstanding from its presentation.

She was then at the center of a controversy during the discussions at the Palais Bourbon, launched by the deputies of Nupes, and further pushed by the elected PS of Essonne Jérôme Guedj.

The subject of the controversy was as follows: how many French people, in full career, will be able to benefit from a minimum pension of 1200 euros per month?

Over the course of the parliamentary exchanges, the government's responses had varied.

And the opponents remained without precise answers.

Until February 28.

In a letter written by the Minister of Labor last Thursday and intended for Jérôme Guedj, Olivier Dussopt gives answers to the left on this flammable subject.

The member of the government then indicated that

“between 10,000 and 20,000 people will cross the threshold of 1,200 euros.

“During the debates, he had at the time affirmed that 40,000 French people would obtain this minimum amount.

“One in four retirees will have a pension upgraded with this reform.

Some will go up to 1200 euros, but not all.

The revaluation will go from 25, 30 up to 100 euros and it will be calculated on a pro rata basis according to the complete career or not”,

had already detailed Olivier Dussopt on France Inter in mid-February.

40,000 French?

The Socialist parliamentarian did not believe it ten days ago.

To the point of making, in his capacity as co-chairman of the Social Security Accounts Assessment Mission, a visit to the Social Security headquarters.

Jérôme Guedj claimed that only 13,300 new French people would receive this increased pension.

In his letter of February 23, the Minister justifies his new range by an

“additional costing”

by the management of Social Security.

to the left, the development did not convince the PS deputy of Essonne:

“Olivier Dussopt finally admits having inflated the figures: on February 15 on France Inter, it was “40,000 new retirees 1200 euros due to the increase in the minimum contributory”.

Following my check, he admits that it will be “10 to 20,000” 1.2% to 2.5% of retirees”.

And to warn the government:

“We will continue the investigations”.

The parliamentary discussion to continue until March 28, the oppositions will continue... to fight the reform until the end.

Here is Olivier Dussopt warned.
