Hit by the drought and demanding structural demands,
rural producers
from different parts of the country
are demonstrating this Tuesday on the side of the Buenos Aires-Rosario highway
, at the intersection with Route 90, to ask the Government to "
withdraw withholdings and an exchange unification".
As Clarín had anticipated, in an assembly convened by the Argentine Agrarian Federation (FAA) and supported by other entities, the ruralistas seek to express
their discontent with the national Executive given the lack of responses
to the inclement weather that has caused serious damage and irreversible in crops, pastures and herds.
Although the call was promoted by the Argentine Agrarian Federation (FAA), later other entities such as the
Argentine Rural Confederations
(CRA),
Coninagro
,
the Argentine Rural Society
(SRA) and self-convened groups such as the
Argentine Association of Agricultural Producers
joined. (AAPA),
Grupo Independencia
and
Campo+Ciudad.
"We have been warning of the complex situation that the producer has with the drought, the frosts, with the hailstorms and that it has exposed the
lack of public policies
. In the short-term
we have asked for things that unfortunately have not been fulfilled so far
," he specified. Carlos Achetoni, president of the FAA
.
In
a video made from the place of the protest, the ruralista leader pointed out: "The public policies that structurally must be requested are: an
exchange unification
, that there be a
withholding withdrawal scheme
, that we have
multi-risk insurance
and that there is a
historic reparation for the regional economies
that are affected".
"We had been carrying out a process of assemblies because we already saw how the drought and frost were coming, and in recent times
the announcements from the Government and the lack of responses made people more exasperated
," Achetoni emphasized in a dialogue with
TN.

In addition, he explained that the rural producers found in this protest "the way to channel the anger" in the face of the "lack of public policies."
In this sense, he explained: "Structurally, there is a lack of measures that promote and give the development that corresponds to production: the withdrawal of withholdings, an exchange unification so that we speak the same language whether we are going to import or to export"
