As part of the continuation of the US provocative measures against Chinese companies, the White House issued a memorandum giving federal agencies 30 days to ban the Chinese “Tik Tok” application on their phones and devices, due to risks to US national security, he claimed.
And Agence France-Presse quoted the director of the Office of Management and Budget in the White House, Chalanda Young, as saying: “All departments and agencies of the federal government must implement a 30-day deadline to ban the application after Congress approved this ban at the end of December last year, and accordingly prevented its download.” on any government device or phone and to block any internet connection between such devices and the app.”
In turn, the Canadian government issued a similar decision prohibiting downloading the application on any of its phones and electronic devices, on the pretext that it carries an unacceptable level of risks to privacy and security.
And a government statement stated that, “As of today, the TikTok application will be deleted from the mobile devices granted by the government, and users of these devices will also be prevented from downloading the application in the future.”
Last week, the European Commission banned the application on its devices as well.
The “Tik Tok” application, owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, which has received great global reach and has become a competitor to American applications, has been subjected to pressures and attempts to ban it for some time within the framework of the provocative and restrictive measures practiced by Washington and its Western allies against Chinese companies.
