Yijiantong shows that patients have obtained new crown drugs from multiple doctors in a short period of time and have submitted them to law enforcement agencies for follow-up

The government stated today (28th) that through the eHealth system earlier, it was discovered that there were some suspicious prescription records of new crown oral medicines, including patients who obtained government-supplied new crown oral medicines from multiple private doctors within a short period of time. Transfer to law enforcement for further follow-up investigation.

The government stated that it will continue to closely monitor the relevant situation. Once it finds any abnormal situation, any criminal elements or violations of the "Professional Code of Hong Kong Registered Doctors", it will strictly enforce the law and transfer relevant information to law enforcement agencies or the Hong Kong Medical Council for follow-up.

The government stated today that through the eHealth system, it was discovered earlier that there were some suspicious prescription records of oral drugs for the new crown, including patients who obtained oral drugs for the new crown supplied by the government from multiple private doctors within a short period of time. The government pointed out that, in general, each new crown patient will only be prescribed one course of oral medicine for the new crown. In terms of a course of treatment, Paxlovid "Paxlovid" contains 30 pills, while Monapiravir "Molnupiravir" contains 30 tablets. Contains 40 capsules.

The government stated that it will continue to closely monitor the relevant situation. The government also reminds the public that if they try to obtain oral medicines for the new crown by improper means (including deceiving doctors), they may commit the crime of fraud. Once convicted, they can be sentenced to up to 14 years in prison.

Even if citizens legally obtain prescription new crown oral drugs from doctors, whether they are provided free of charge by the government or purchased from doctors at their own expense, they cannot be resold or given to others.

Selling, reselling or supplying prescription drugs for free constitutes a related offense under the Pharmacy and Poisons Ordinance (Cap. 138). The maximum penalty is a fine of HK$100,000 and imprisonment for two years.
