The official spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, criticized the European sanctions policy against Moscow, and said: The European Union erred in all its expectations regarding the repercussions of its recently imposed sanctions on Moscow.
Russia Today website quoted Zakharova as saying today: “The European Union once again erred in its expectations about the effectiveness of sanctions when it imposed the tenth package of restrictions, and Europe is killing its economic sovereignty, as the restrictions imposed by the European Union on trade with Russia will only lead to an increase in dependence on direct competitors.
Zakharova explained that the European Union's threats to punish third countries for not complying with the sanctions imposed on Russia will only increase the rejection of Western policy by the rest of the world.
The Permanent Mission of Russia to the European Union stressed earlier that the tenth package of European sanctions against Moscow lacks legitimacy and confirmed that this package will not go unanswered.
