A blackout affects Argentina this Wednesday afternoon.
The Ministry of Energy reported that the country's interconnected electricity system registers "several failures" and this has generated blackouts in several places.
According to the secretariat, these failures led to several generation plants going out of operation, including the one in Atucha.
"There is a frequency failure that expels a part of the generation. This generation center that is Atucha came out," the entity said.
Just as the Atucha generation came out, the same thing also happened to the Puertos plant, added the authority.
The outage in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area "occurred after the Atucha plant went out of operation," the agency explained.
