- What has been the new American strategy in the Indo-Pacific region for the past year?

The United States is working to increase diplomatic, military and economic cooperation with its allies in the region, in order to deter China from continuing its hostile actions.

For the Chinese, the goal is to resist what they perceive as a policy of containment, aimed at hampering their regional expansion as they try to emerge from their post-Covid pandemic isolation.

But Chinese policy under Xi Jinping is that of a power in search of regional hegemony.

And the reason for the rapprochement with the United States of other countries in the region, such as Japan, Vietnam, Australia or the Philippines, is largely due to the behavior of Beijing, which has failed to convince them that they would benefit from his hegemony.
