The video surveillance cell ardently desired by the mayor of Paris is running at full capacity.
It is in a former barracks of the Republican Guard, opposite the town hall of the 4th arrondissement of Paris that the DPMP (Directorate of Municipal Police and Prevention, formerly DPSD - Directorate for the Prevention of Security and protection).
In other words, the nerve center of the remote verbalization of (minor) traffic offenses in Paris.
On the first floor is a new room recently inaugurated, dedicated to video verbalization, where each workstation is equipped with four screens.
The Prefecture of Police had originally set up this network of cameras in order to prevent crimes and ensure security.
After long negotiations between the Prefecture and the Town Hall, Anne Hidalgo also obtained its use for the purpose of reporting traffic violations.
