On video: Not only Vogel: Smotrich also says that Hvara should be "erased" (TheMarker Labels financial conference)
US State Department spokesman Ned Price said today (Wednesday) that Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's statements about disturbances in Hvara are irresponsible, disgusting and repugnant.
"We condemn these provocative statements that are considered incitement and call on Prime Minister Netanyahu to disavow them publicly and come out against them," he said.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said earlier today that the state should "delete" the Palestinian town of Hawara, following the statements of some members of his party this week.
"The State of Israel should do this. God forbid, not private individuals. I called for calming the spirits and under no circumstances to be dragged into anarchy where people take the law into their own hands. What contributes to the intensification of passions is that people are murdered on the roads," said Smotrich.
Today, the legal adviser to the government Galia Beharve-Miara approved the opening of an investigation against MK Zvika Fogel on suspicion of incitement. MK Fogel was interviewed on Radio Gali Israel and said, among other things, that "Hvara is closed and burned. This is what I want to see. This is the only way we will achieve deterrence.
