The Arab Writers Union granted writer Nidaa Hussein the encouragement award for children's literature in the field of story for her collection (My Grandmother's Tales), which she directed to the middle and late childhood stage.
The collection includes six short stories, and one extended one that sheds light on educational values, animal welfare, and the foundation for love and loyalty, in addition to being distinguished by linguistic grace and literary foundations.
The head of the competition committee, Dr. Farouk Aslim, told SANA that the group varied in its characters between humans, animals and plants, so that the child reader could activate love and values in his behavior towards all things, and the writer was keen to present the group with artistic foundations and moral values.
The President of the Union of Arab Writers, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani, considered that encouraging children's literature is necessary because the child is the hope of the future, so it must be properly prepared, pointing out that the winner was able to reach the award through her group, in which she presented what serves the child's education.
