The Colombian Transport Minister, Guillermo Reyes, said Wednesday that they are analyzing "all the necessary measures" so that the players in the aviation market commit to continue operating for the benefit of their users, after the the problems unleashed by the suspension of operations of the airline Viva Air.
Reyes warned at a press conference that these measures could include "market intervention, if necessary, to protect users and guarantee equilibrium and efficiency conditions."

These statements occur after a meeting of senior officials with President Gustavo Petro to discuss the issue of Viva Air, where they stressed that the priority is to protect the rights of Viva workers and air transport users.
The head of the Ministry of Transportation said that the Government of Colombia agreed to seek ways to guarantee the protection of the 460,000 passengers who have purchased air tickets for this year.
Until now, among other measures, travelers who have had problems have been relocated to other flights.
