In a discussion held this morning (Wednesday) in the Knesset's Education Committee, on the subject of "inciting and promoting a Palestinian narrative in the curriculum of schools in East Jerusalem", the representative of the Ministry of Education, Gur Rosenalbet told about the surprise audits that are being done in the city's schools, and admitted that there is a policy of "concealment". according to him.

When asked about the specific school where the terrorists studied from the recent attacks, he replied: "In the educational institutions, they understand that the State of Israel does not agree that they will be taught in books with inflammatory content, so when we get to the school, they take the books off the tables and place worksheets."

Later, MK Dan Iloz (Likud), who initiated the discussion, asked if procedures were taken against the schools that were caught. The Ministry of Education replied - denying a budget, but it should also be remembered that this could be problematic because some schools do not learn with the help of funding from the Ministry of Education.

According to the municipality's data, in East Jerusalem tens of thousands of students study in 266 schools, of which 98 are official schools of the Ministry of Education.

Of these, 62 schools teach according to the Israeli program.

In the Israeli program, the Ministry of Education reprints the textbooks in the Israeli program - after censorship and re-editing.

The deputy director of the Ministry of Education on the committee explained that in the higher grades there is nothing to be done about the content - and all students switch to the Palestinian program: "In grades 11-12 we cannot change the content, since the students are tested in the Palestinian matriculation."

Just in the last month there were three terrorist attacks in the eastern part of the city carried out by 13- and 14-year-old terrorists who attended the same schools.

The headmistress of the school of Muhammad Aliwat, the 13-year-old terrorist who carried out the attack in the city of David, denied this in a conversation with Walla!

that at school they study with inciting content - but now the committee reveals that not only does it exist, the Ministry of Education knows the content but its hands are tied: "We are not allowed to open students' files," said a senior official in the ministry.

MK Iloz also added that the responsibility for these and future attacks may lie with the authorities if they do not address the issue: "If the terrorist had succeeded in killing In the attack, some of the blood was on our hands. This absurd situation must end. We must not allow incitement. We must put an end to it."
