The Supreme State Council of the Belarusian Russian Federation ratified the Concept Document on Information Security of the Federation State.

The press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement today that the document is the result of close cooperation between the organs of the security councils, the ministries of foreign affairs and other competent authorities in the two countries, in the field of joint response to modern informational challenges and threats on a solid legal basis.

The ministry said in its statement: The main objective of the document is to protect the national interests of the two countries participating in the Treaty establishing the State of the Union in the field of information.

According to the statement, the provisions of the document are being implemented to the letter by the Belarusian and Russian sides, in cooperation with like-minded countries in the United Nations platform, that is, within the framework of the Special Committee for the Development of the Convention on Combating the Use of Information and Communication Technology for Criminal Purposes, as well as within the framework of the open-ended working group on the security of the use of information technology. Information and communications and information and communication technologies themselves for the period 2021-2025.

The document concluded that the concept of information security for the Union State can be a model and basis for developing cooperation in this field for other countries and regional associations, and that Belarus and Russia will continue to exchange experiences in the field of information security at the national level and at the regional and global levels with the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America in order to reduce Risks and threats common to all in the field of information and communication technology and the development of global rules for responsible behavior in the field of information.

It is noteworthy that the state union between Belarus and Russia was established on April 2, 1996, and the foundation of the union was strengthened on April 2, 1997 with the signing of the Union Treaty between Belarus and Russia, and at that time its name was changed to the Federation of Belarus and Russia.
