Tehran responded today to the expulsion of two Iranian diplomats from Germany last week by deciding to expel two German diplomats from its territory.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs justified the deportation on the "interference of the German government in Iran's internal and legal affairs."

The expulsion of the Iranian diplomats from Germany came as a response to a death sentence issued against an Iranian-German citizen, whom the regime in Tehran accuses of underground activity on behalf of the royalist opposition.
Against the man, Jamshid Sharmad, a resident of the USA, it was alleged that he headed an underground group that supports the return of the monarchical regime to Iran and which carried out a deadly attack against a mosque in Iran in 2008 and planned to carry out additional attacks.

The Iranian decision to expel the German diplomats came a few hours after the German Foreign Minister, Anlana Barbuk, expressed, along with the Israeli Foreign Minister, Eli Cohen, extremely harsh criticism of the continuation of Iran's uranium enrichment activities in violation of the international nuclear agreement, from which Germany has not yet withdrawn.
Political sources said that Barbuk promised Cohen to act to declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization in Germany and the European Union.
