Republican and Democratic senators have introduced a bill that seeks to strengthen rail safety after the Norfolk Southern train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.
This comes almost a month after a train carrying toxic materials derailed as it traversed East Palestine.
However, a controversy has been generated by the decision of the authorities to transfer contaminated water and soil from that area of Ohio to other states, entities where authorities and the population oppose the measures.
