In any case, Germany's largest airline is already at the top when it comes to price: from Frankfurt to Shanghai it charges 13,719 euros in first class, as the Augsburg-based airline Alpen Air determined in a price ranking for luxurious scheduled flights.
The currently most expensive flight from Germany takes twelve hours and five minutes, which corresponds to a minute price of 19 euros.

But in an international comparison, even Lufthansa is becoming a budget airline.
Etihad Airways sells by far the most expensive ticket currently available: For 61,000 euros, it flies First passengers from John F. Kennedy Airport in New York to its home hub in Abu Dhabi.
