It's not luxury.
Just two and a half years after its appearance, the Volkswagen ID.3 has already undergone a fitness course.
It must be said that this compact sedan, which the German manufacturer had erected as the flagship of its electric offensive, tripped over the carpet.
Poor quality of materials and finish, computer bugs and the first models deprived of the augmented reality head-up display and the “Connect App” system ensuring the connection of smartphones: the ID.3 has accumulated flaws.
Volkswagen does its mea-culpa and presents, at the start of spring 2023, a new version that has been significantly modified.
The style has been revised, particularly at the front end which incorporates a more elegant redesigned shield.
For its part, the hood, now ribbed on the edges, abandons the black band at the foot of the windshield.

It is inside that the efforts have been concentrated.
The manufacturer has taken into account the complaints of motorists and returns with a perceived quality now up to VW standards.
Some plastics are now foamed and the trimmings mostly use a microfiber fabric containing 71% recycled content.
On the equipment side, VW has also revised its copy.
The size of the multimedia screen goes from 10 to 12 inches and the system is enriched with an essential function for recharging the battery in complete peace of mind: an intelligent route planner coupled with GPS.
On long journeys, it calculates charging stops in order to reach its final destination as quickly as possible, based on traffic information and the level of battery charge.
The system also detects occupied charging stations.

Finally, Volkswagen announces an increased charging power and therefore a reaction of stops at the terminal for the group's first model designed on the MEB modular electric platform.
The launch of the revised and corrected ID.3 is planned before the summer holidays.
