The prosecutor's office filed an indictment this morning (Thursday) against 42-year-old Jacob Chaimovich from Lod for the murder of his neighbor, 33-year-old Lider Suisa.
According to the indictment, Chaimovich attacked Suisa on the grounds that the noise she was making disturbed his rest, and because she called the police after he approached her with allegations a few days before the day of the murder.
Lider and her husband lived on the sixth floor of the building and Hayimovich on the fifth floor, with his apartment located below theirs.
The indictment also states that in the last two years Chaimovich complained to Lider and her husband about the noise coming from their apartment, and on many occasions he cut off their electricity and came to knock on their door.
A few days before the murder incident, Chaimovich knocked on the door of their house, complaining about a hum coming from the apartment.
Lider explained that there was no buzzing and tried to slam the door while Haimovich tried to force his way into the apartment.
She called the police, who talked to Chaimovich and made it clear to him that there was no buzzing and that he should stop bothering them.
So, according to the indictment, Chaimovich decided to murder Lider.
Therefore, when Chaimovich heard last month when Suvisa was leaving the house, he took a knife and stabbed her at the entrance to the elevator while she was struggling with him.
Later, Chaimovich pulled and pushed her down the stairs.
At one point, Leder fell on her stomach, so he stabbed her in the back four times and only stopped when he realized he had succeeded in killing her.
He then returned to his apartment, washed his hands, and left the building.
Lawyer Abd Abu Amer, who represents Yaakov Chaimovich on behalf of the public defender's office, responded: "This is a difficult and tragic incident and our hearts go out to the family of the deceased. Yaakov is in a difficult mental state, and was released from a psychiatric hospital several months ago. The indictment was filed today, we have not yet seen the The evidence material, but already at this stage it can be noted that the accused was examined in a preliminary way and from this examination it appears that he is in a psychotic state."
