The outpost will serve as a home for the opponents of the legal revolution • The organizers stated that they intend to stay there as long as necessary in order to stop the legislation • Major General Amos Malka: "We are not ready for people who do not serve, do not work and do not pay taxes to dictate to us how to live"

"Battle against the coup d'état":

The rally to lay the cornerstone for the 'democracy outpost' of the reservist protest is being held this evening (Thursday) on Kaplan Street in Jerusalem near the office of the Prime Minister and the Knesset.

The makeshift outpost is supposed to serve as a home for all opponents of the legal reform led by the Netanyahu government.

The rally is attended by hundreds of reservists as well as the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Justice Tzipi Livni.

Behind the initiative to establish the outpost is Brigadier General Dr. Roi Alkabats, one of the leaders of the group 'Shrioners for the Defense of Democracy' and partners in it are all the groups that take part in the joint headquarters of the military protest.

The organizers stated that they intend to stay there as long as it takes to stop the legislation and that in the near future the outpost will be staffed permanently.

Every day there will be activities to strengthen Israeli democracy and protest actions, as part of the fight for legal reform.

Major General (Ret.) Amos Malka, former head of the IDF intelligence division and commander of the field troops, said at the entrance to the reserve outpost: "We from the democracy outpost come to defend democracy against predatory blitz moves.

We are not anarchists, we are not thugs.

We are not ready for people who don't serve, don't work, and don't pay taxes to dictate to us which country to live in, and we unequivocally demand entry into broad negotiations when the legislation is stopped."

"We come to defend democracy."

Brigadier General Dr. Roi Alkabats, who is behind the initiative, said: "Faced with a government that continues to race towards a coup d'état, we are now mobilizing, veterans of all the units that are members of the reservists' protest, to save democracy. We will settle in front of the Knesset to make it clear to the disaffected people who are sitting inside that the people of Israel oppose to the coup d'état. This is the most important battle we are embarking on, the battle for the independence of the people and their freedom and we will win."
