Today, the Homs Provincial Council organized a protest stand to demand the lifting of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people, in which the participants carried national flags and banners calling for lifting the siege and sanctions on Syria.

The participants called for the stand held in front of the new clock, with the participation of civil, official, partisan, trade union and youth activities, calling on the international community to lift the inhumane blockade imposed on the Syrian people, which is no less dangerous than the earthquake, stressing that the Syrian people were the first to help many peoples in their crises and deserve to live in goodness and peace.

In statements to SANA reporter, the head of the provincial council, Fawaz al-Hashemi, stated that our goal today from this stand is to call on the international community and humanitarian organizations to lift these sanctions, which, even if they are prolonged, will not affect the steadfastness of the Syrian people.

The Director of Technical Services, Eng. Amin Al-Essa, called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to take their role seriously in order to lift the unjust measures and economic blockade imposed by the United States of America and some Western countries on Syria.

The imam and preacher of the Endowments Directorate of Homs, Firas Sheikh Fattouh, indicated that this stand is attended by all segments of society, to demand the lifting of the unjust siege imposed on Syria.

While the Secretary of the partisan division in the Shein division, Asad Ali, called on the international community to lift the siege on Syria and stop the illegal sanctions against it.

Abeer Menoun and Suha Qassem said: The earthquake was a humanitarian catastrophe, and the international community must stand in solidarity with Syria and lift these unjust coercive measures imposed on its people.

Hassan Fizo said that the earthquake disaster showed the extent of the Syrian people's love and solidarity with each other in crises, and that this humanitarian situation now puts the international community before its responsibilities and duties in lifting economic sanctions.

Majed Al-Sayed, from the Al-Naim clan in the city of Salamiyah, said: We came to demand the lifting of the siege on Syria and its children, as it is a country of safety and security, and you will not harm it and the steadfastness of the Syrian people.

A number of students expressed their dissatisfaction with the unilateral sanctions imposed on the Syrian people, especially after the earthquake occurred, stressing the need to work to lift the siege completely, to overcome the effects of the earthquake, which caused hundreds of victims and injuries and caused great destruction.
