Ellmau – The 16th “Bergdoktor” season is over and until new episodes continue in 2024, one twist in the last eight weeks should be remembered.
After years of secrecy, Dr.
Martin Gruber (Hans Sigl, 53) tells his brother Hans (Heiko Ruprecht, 50) that he once had a secret relationship with his late wife Sonja and wanted to elope with her to New York.
This revelation caused great damage to the Grubers, but the response from the fans was rather critical – which seems to go against the grain of Hans Sigl.

For weeks, the Gruber brothers were at odds over Martin's secret love affair with Sonja, and even after the broadcast of the season finale "Der Weg zurück" the house blessing in Ellmau was lopsided.
The big reveal left viewers confused because, as many of them noticed, Martin mentioned back in season one that he wanted to go to New York with Sonja.
Until then, nobody knew that they had been lovers for months – but for the “Bergdoktor” fans it seems to be a script error.
The fact that the secret, which was at the core of the plot for most of the 16th "Bergdoktor" season, irritated the television audience more than shocked it, does not go down well with the main actor Hans Sigl and under a Facebook post by TV Spielfilm he makes his anger Air.
He emphasizes that what was particularly important in the Gruber family drama was that Martin and Sonja had been a couple for a long time instead of a one-night stand and that Martin wanted to steal his younger brother's wife.
"It's about the dimensions of a story," explains the former "SOKO Kitzbühel" star.
Hans Sigl also resolutely defends himself against the claims that the events surrounding Martin, Hans and the secret affair were illogical: “Was it illogical?
Or was it just empathy not to talk about it for so long and then don't misunderstandings sometimes arise that develop on their own?"

Since 2008, Hans Sigl has embodied the title hero Martin Gruber in "Der Bergdoktor".
The exciting life of the country doctor inspires millions of loyal fans with every episode and has made his actor one of the biggest stars of German television.
But what very few people know: the role as the son of Lisbeth Gruber is not Hans Sigl's first Bergdoktor appearance.
Because ten years before he slipped into the white doctor's coat, he was already seen as a taxi driver in the popular series that was still running on Sat.1 at the time and in which Gerhard Lippert, a completely different mountain doctor, was the focus.
Who knows - maybe an extra from the ZDF remake will one day succeed Hans Sigl?

It not only seems old to me, but sometimes even outdated.”
