A 31-year-old Toronto resident has been charged with dozens of sexual assaults on minors, Canadian police said Wednesday, March 1, who believe there could be more victims.
Daniel Langdon faces 39 counts of sexual assault and is suspected of manufacturing and possessing child pornography, Toronto police said at a press conference.
The victims, located in different locations in the province of Ontario, the most populous region of Canada, were targeted online via social networks such as Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter.
"The multiple victims are aged 7 to 17"
and the facts
"would have occurred between April 2021 and February 2023"
, said Vijay Shetty of the police of the largest Canadian city.
Already known to justice
Very active on social networks,
"the accused would have used several usernames and email addresses on various platforms and, in some cases, would have changed his image to appear younger"
, he also explained.
During the search of his home, police recovered child pornography and evidence indicating he sexually assaulted a 7-year-old child in a Toronto park.
Already known to justice for possession of child pornography images in a case dating back to 2016, the man was prohibited from attending parks and having contact with young people under the age of 16.
Arrested on February 7, Daniel Langdon appeared in court the next day and has been in pre-trial detention since.
